Kim is a Stanford and Duke trained cardiac surgeon and scientist that left clinical practice to tackle a problem critical to her patients: lack of health engagement and the resulting non-adherence. From early stages in her career, she ran clinical divisions, increasing profitability and improving outcomes. For the last three years, she has been immersed in the entrepreneurial space building advanced, interoperable health engagement solutions.
Steve is an experienced entrepreneur, investor, and technologist. After 17 years as a managing partner at Accenture, he founded his own software development firm, 27 Global, which he has been running successfully for 8 years and which has offices in both Denver and Kansas City. Kim and Steve, both Northwestern alumni, teamed up two years ago to develop Play-it Health’s software system. Steve now formally joins the Play-it Health team to take the company to the next level.
Steve is a seasoned developer with over 10 years experience as a lead developer and president of a successful start up tech firm. He also has extensive experience in security and database management at larger entities such as Experian.
Katie has been a VP and Director of product development at Welltok and Trizetto, respectively. Her knowledge of the digital health landscape, experience in taking products to market, appreciation of the fine details of the user experience, and her attention to detail will be invaluable for Play-it Health.
Dex joins Play-It Health with more than a decade of experience helping start-ups and entrepreneurs across the technology sector establish a market-fit and grow their development verticals. He also brings a significant operations acumen to the team through his experience with Outerwall, DVDXpress and Robo Innovations. Through his ability to develop relationships and effectively create and articulate Play-it Health’s value proposition, Dex’s presence on the team will bring the growth needed to elevate Play-It Health in the healthcare engagement space.
Esther is a world renowned author, angel investor, mentor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. She is known for her keen insight and predictive prowess in the fields of tech and health, having established herself in the early days of tech by creating a newsletter that was seen as one of the key resources for identifying elements with transformative power.
Will is a Director of Clinical operations at Davita with an emphasis on innovation in the field of disease management. Will’s deep domain experience allows him to provide invaluable insight into the positioning of products in the marketplace. With degrees in engineering physics and civil engineering and an MBA from Stanford, his multidisciplinary background allows him to bring a distinct set of skills to his passion for patient advocacy. Will is known for his creativity, collaborative nature, unbounded energy, and transformative ideas.
Piero is an experienced data scientist well respected nationally for his algorithm development and analytic skills. Never afraid to think out of the box, he has been a valued senior data scientist at organizations such as Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Sprint, and C2FO. Piero loves and believes in the power of large sets of data, and so does Play-it Health.
Jake is a passionate software exec with 18 years of experience in project management and mobile, web, back-end, and desktop development. He has delivered state of the art solutions into the marketplace for organizations such as Microsoft, Hitachi, Radio Userland, and Black Pixel.
John is a serial entrepreneur, having run multiple successful ventures within the healthcare space and having been an advisor for multiple government level committees on health policy. Previously a professor in the Trulaske Business School, he currently brokers one of the largest telemed groups within the world.
CEO of Play-it Health, Kim has long been respected for her ability to provide strategic advice to groups about future directions. Within 5 years of completing training, she had been an Associate Director of a Clinical Research Institute and on the Strategic Advisory Board of the major international transplant organization in the world, the ISHLT.
